My main focus this past week was to create my display board. Using my display board plan, I had to take a methodical approach to this project. First, I had to create my title of ‘Pediatric Ophthalmology’, which so happened to fit just right across the board. Coach Goff was able to provide me with cardstock that matched the blue of my color scheme, which was extremely convenient. I then used the school’s die-cut machine to cut out letters, for which I chose the ‘jelly bean’ font after deliberation over what would match my board the best, eventually choosing to make a pediatrics board more fun. Then, I gathered and organized everything I needed to print into the correct sizes on a document to print. I proceeded to cut, glue, and organize the different sections onto my board with the cardstock to help make everything pop. I am happy with the way my display board turned out, as I believe it looks put together and has good information. I think I could improve it by adding a heading for my original work so it is clear what type of work people will be scanning from the QR Code. I look forward to displaying my work at the research showcase! I also continued to explore the field’s research this week in learning about vitrectorhexis of pediatric cataract surgery, seeing how this technique progresses.
