Dr. Thayer

Mentor

Dr. Thayer is a pediatric ophthalmologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in retinopathy of prematurity, strabismus, and pediatric cataract surgery. Dr. Thayer earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, completed a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA), and received advanced training in pediatric ophthalmology through a fellowship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She was recognized as the 2019–2020 Ophthalmology Resident of the Year by UTHSA. Dr. Thayer is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
