I am a diligent high school junior with a passion for studying the STEM field, specifically medicine, and working with children. The pediatric ophthalmology field connects these two and I am seeking to learn from experienced professionals in this field. The innovation of technology and complexity of knowledge involved in ophthalmology fascinate me greatly. I strive to challenge myself, stimulate my ambition, and make a positive influence as I explore future career path possibilities.
Mission
With this independent study, I aspire to further my understanding of the pediatric ophthalmology field by making connections with professionals in this field. Through the help of a mentor, I will perform research and gain onsite experience that gives me a stronger understanding of the field and guides me to create a final product that contributes to pediatric ophthalmology. I hope to stimulate my creativity, passion, and ambition through the opportunities introduced by the ISM program. As I strive to gain the skills and awareness necessary to succeed as a pediatric ophthalmologist, I aim to direct my career path and make an impact on society.
